ABOUT DRH HEALTH:
DRH Health is a not-for-profit community hospital system based in Oklahoma. Founded in 1977, DRH Health offers a variety of healthcare services, including addiction medicine, behavioral health, cancer care, ear, nose, and throat, home care, hospice, imaging, interventional pain, ophthalmology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, and wound care.3 Headquartered in Duncan, Oklahoma, DRH Health employs over 1,000 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, DRH Health announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, in July 2024, DRH Health’s third-party vendor, Nationwide Recovery Service (“NRS”), became aware of a cybersecurity issue involving its network environment.1 As a result, NRS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, NRS confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems belonging to DRH Health patients may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between July 5 and July 11, 2024. As a result, DRH Health began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On March 28, 2025, DRH Health completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Financial account information
- Medical related information
As a result of the breach, DRH Health posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, on April 25, 2025, DRH Health began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals.
