WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Family Centers announced that the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on January 30, 2025, Family Centers became aware of suspicious activity on its digital environment.1 As a result, Family Centers launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, on February 6, 2025, Family Centers confirmed that sensitive personal information belonging to its clients may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Family Centers began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
