WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, SRAM announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed.1 According to the breach notice, on March 15, 2025, SRAM became aware of suspicious activity in its network.1 As a result, SRAM launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, SRAM confirmed that data on certain systems may have been accessed or acquired without authorization between March 6 and March 15, 2025.1 As a result, SRAM began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted, as well as identify specific individuals affected. Recently, SRAM completed this review and on March 26, 2025, and determined that certain individuals were impacted.1 While the information taken varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially at risk includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of Birth
- Driver’s license or state identification number
- Passport or other governmental identification number
- Financial account information
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
- Birth or Marriage certificate
On April 10, 2025, SRAM began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Vermont residents, SRAM is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
