WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Eisner Advisory Group reported to the Attorney General of Maine that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on September 9, 2023, Eisner Advisory Group became aware of suspicious activity with respect to a limited set of information.1 As a result, Eisner Advisory Group launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Eisner Advisory Group confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between September 4 and September 9, 2023. As a result, Eisner Advisory Group began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On February 13, 2025, Eisner Advisory Group completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license or state identification number
- Passport number
- Financial account number
- Payment card information
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
On April 8, 2025, Eisner Advisory Group began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Eisner Advisory Group is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
