Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating H20.ai regarding its recent data breach. The H20.ai data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT H20.AI:

H20.ai is an open-source Generative AI and Machine Learning platform provider based in California.2 Founded in 2012, H20.ai’s platform distills the technical prowess of 30 Kaggle Masters into straightforward AI cloud products for Generative AI and machine learning that solve powerful problems.2 Today, H20.ai’s platforms and engines serve over 20,000 global companies and organizations, including AT&T, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, PayPal, Chipotle, ADP, WorkDay, IFFCO-Tokio and AES.2 Headquartered in Mountain View, California, H20.ai has five additional locations across the United States, Canada, Czech Republic, Singapore, and Sri Lanka, and employs over 200 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, H20.ai reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on February 18, 2025, H20.ai became aware that a financially motivated group claimed to have stolen H2O.ai data.1 As a result, H20.ai launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, H20.ai confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems belonging to employees may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between December 20, 2024, and January 29, 2025. As a result, H20.ai began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Payroll information
  • Benefit enrollment information

On March 27, 2025, H20.ai began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Massachusetts residents, H20.ai is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services. A link to the form breach notification letter that H20.ai filed with the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is below.
