Storage Durango Blue Diamond Data Breach Investigation

Additionally, Storage Durango provides Uhaul truck rentals, covered parking for boats and trailers, moving supplies and moving boxes, and more.2 Headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, Storage Durango has one location.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Storage Durango reported to the Attorney General of Vermont that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on August 31, 2024, Storage Durango detected suspicious activity related to certain systems within its environment.1 As a result, Storage Durango launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Storage Durango confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party between August 8 and August 31, 2024. As a result, Storage Durango began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license or state identification number
- Financial account number
- Health insurance policy number
On March 25, 2025, Storage Durango began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Vermont residents, Storage Durango is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
