WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Parascript announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on August 16, 2024, Parascript identified unusual activity on its computer systems with indicators consistent with a ransomware incident.1 As a result, Parascript launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Parascript confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised between July 29, 2024, and August 16, 2024. As a result, Parascript began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license or other government identification number
- Passport number
- Taxpayer identification number
- Financial account information
- Payment card information
- Username and other crediental information
- Digital signature
- Biometric data
- Mother’s maiden name
- IRS-issued PIN number
- Medical information (e.g., clinical or treatment information, medical provider’s name(s), medical procedure information, prescription information)
- Health insurance information
- Any other information on an individual that was created, used, or disclosed in the course of providing health care services
On October 15, 2024, Parascript posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, on March 18, 2025, Parascript began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the website breach notice, Parascript is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
