Now a part of the INVISO Group, Racal Acoustics specializes in situational awareness hearing protection and communication solutions.4 Today, Racal Acoustics’ solutions include headsets for land, sea and air environments; for use in military, paramilitary, first responder, aviation and industrial markets.4 Headquartered in London, United Kingdom, Racal Acoustics employs over 50 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Racal Acoustics reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, in May 2024 Racal Acoustics discovered a network disruption.1 As a result, Racal Acoustics launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, in November 2024, Racal Acoustics confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems belonging to employees may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Racal Acoustics began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On January 9, 2025, Racal Acoustics completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account information
On February 25, 2025, Racal Acoustics began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, Racal Acoustics is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
