WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, CPM announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, CPM recently discovered that it had experienced a data security incident.1 As a result, CPM launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, CPM confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and taken by an unauthorized third party between June 26, 2024, and July 7, 2024. As a result, CPM began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On January 17, 2025, CPM completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license or state identification number
- Passport number
- Financial account number
- Medical information
- Health insurance policy information
As a result of the data breach, CPM posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, on February 14, 2025, CPM began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals.
