WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Grubb Ventures reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on June 7, 2024, Grubb Ventures became aware of suspicious activity in an employee’s email account.1 As a result, Grubb Ventures launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Grubb Ventures confirmed that sensitive personal information in certain employee emails may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Grubb Ventures began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On December 20, 2024, Grubb Ventures completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

- Social Security number
On February 13, 2025, Grubb Ventures began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Massachusetts residents, Grubb Ventures is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
