Keeco is a home textile manufacturer based in Florida. Founded in 1976, Keeco specializes in fashion top of bed, basic / utility bedding, and soft window with additional businesses in bath, kitchen textiles, table linens and patio mats.2 Today, Keeco is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of pillows, comforters, mattress pads, and home décor in North America.3 Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, Keeco has over 15 additional locations across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and employs over 1,500 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Keeco reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, Keeco recently discovered that it had experienced a data security incident. As a result, Keeco launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Keeco confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during various periods of access to its network between March 28, 2024, and May 19, 2024. As a result, Keeco began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account information
On December 17, 2024, Keeco began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Keeco is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
