Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Sabre GLBL, Inc. (“Sabre”) regarding its recent data breach. The Sabre data breach may have involved sensitive personal information belonging to over 29,000 individuals.

Sabre is a software and technology company based in Texas. Founded in 1960, Sabre partners with airlines, hoteliers, agencies and other travel partners and provides an open platform that offers a wide range of travel software advancements.2 Today, Sabre’s technology powers mobile apps, airport check-in kiosks, online travel sites, airline and hotel reservation networks, travel agent terminals, and more.3 Headquartered in Southlake, Texas, Sabre has over 50 locations across the world and employs over 5,000 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Sabre reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on September 6, 2023, Sabre became aware that the confidentiality of some of its employee related information, including personal information maintained by Sabre, was compromised by an unauthorized third party.1 As a result, Sabre launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Sabre confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party on or around July 4, 2022, and in some instances was posted on the dark web in a series of posts concluding in October 2023.1 As a result, Sabre began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Passport number
- National ID number
- Signature
- Financial account number
- Employment related information
On December 9, 2024, Sabre began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Sabre is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
