Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Storr Office Environments (“Storr”) regarding its recent data breach. The Storr data breach may have involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

Storr is a furniture and interior design company based in North Carolina. Founded in 1914, Storr specializes in creating high-functioning workspaces across multiple industries including corporate, healthcare, education, life sciences, and government facilities.2 Accordingly, Storr offers a variety of services, including asset management – warehouse storage, buyback and disposal, commercial flooring, design and space planning, delivery and installation, ergonomic services, facilities management, commercial move services, new and preowned furniture, project management, and more.3 Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, Storr has an additional location in Greensboro, North Carolina, and employs over 200 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Storr reported to the Attorney General of Vermont that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on May 31, 2024, Storr became aware of suspicious activity within its environment that impacted certain systems.1 As a result, Storr launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Storr discovered that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between May 30 and May 31, 2024. As a result, Storr began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On September 24, 2024, Storr completed its initial review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On or around November 29, 2024, Storr began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Vermont residents, Storr is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
