Image Microsystems is a third-party logistics company based in Texas. Founded in 1992, Image Microsystems works with other companies to recover their returned, damaged, and surplus goods.2 Additionally, Image Microsystems refurbishes and repackages companies’ goods and sells them “like new” to their customers or through its wholesale or retail channels.2 Today, Image Microsystem’s strengths include storage, B2B fulfillment, inventory tracking, inbound and outbound shipping, refurbishment, and returns processing.2 Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Image Microsystems employs over 50 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On October 14, 2024, Image Microsystems reported to the Attorney General of Texas that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party. As of October 15, 2024, details of the breach have not been made publicly available by Image Microsystems. While not much is known about the breach, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
