WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, John Richard announced that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on February 14, 2024, John Richard detected suspicious activity within its network that impacted certain systems. As a result, John Richard launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, John Richard learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and taken by an unauthorized third-party between January 18, 2024, and February 14, 2024. As a result, John Richard began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Passport number
  • Financial account information
  • Payment card information

 

As a result of the data breach, John Richard posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, John Richard mailed breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice on its website, John Richard is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
