Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Riverside Resort & Casino (“Riverside”) regarding its recent data breach. The Riverside data breach may have involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

Riverside is a casino resort based in Nevada. Opened by Don Laughlin in 1966, Riverside is now home to over 1,300 slot and video poker machines including the latest technologically advanced video machines, 35 live gaming tables, Poker, Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Keno, Bingo and a Race and Sports Book.4 In addition to gaming, Riverside offers luxury tour boat cruises; two classic car exhibits; a 740-space full hook-up RV Park; gift shops; two swimming pools; a dance studio; a beauty salon and massage service; six restaurants (from buffet to gourmet); six THX surround-sound cinemas with 3-D; large video and game arcades; a mail center; and Watercraft rentals.4 Located in Laughlin, Nevada, Riverside employs nearly 2,000 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Riverside reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on July 25, 2024, Riverside became aware of suspicious activity within its computer environment. As a result, Riverside launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Riverside learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and taken by an unauthorized actor during the incident. As a result, Riverside began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 9, 2024, Riverside completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On September 5, 2024, Riverside began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the California residents, Riverside is providing affected individuals with 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
