WHAT HAPPENED?
On August 9, 2024, Unicoin detected that an unknown threat actor had gained access to the Company’s Google G-Suite account and changed passwords of all users of the Company’s G-Suite products (i.e., G-Mail, G-Drive and other related G-Suite functionality), thereby denying access to all users having an “@unicoin.com” email address.1 Additionally, during a personal check of corporate users of internal services, Unicoin discovered discrepancies in the personal data of employees and/or contractors in its accounting department.1 In response, Unicoin began an investigation to determine the nature of scope of the incident.
On August 9, 2024, Unicoin reported the incident in a Form 8-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. As of August 15, 2024, Unicoin’s investigation is ongoing and whether personal information has been exposed has not been made publicly available by Unicoin.
