Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Allcare Medical Management, Inc. (“Allcare”) regarding its recent data breach. The Allcare data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to over 16,000 individuals.

Founded in 2005, Allcare assists independent physicians, physician groups, and other health care providers in maximizing reimbursement, cost containment, financial and management reporting, coding, and compliance.3 Today, Allcare’s services include reducing office expenses, billing management, accounts receivable, practice management, management reporting, and computers and software. Headquartered in San Bernardino, California, Allcare employs over 200 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Allcare reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, Allcare detected unauthorized activity within an employee’s email account. As a result, Allcare launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
On May 23, 2024, Allcare learned that sensitive personal information may have been viewed or taken from its systems between March 4 and April 20, 2024. As a result, Allcare began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On June 12, 2024, Allcare completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Contact information
- Date of birth
- Medical record number
- Health insurance information
- Information related to care received at FPA Women’s Health
As a result, Allcare began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Attorney General of California, Allcare is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
