Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Walser Automotive Group (“Walser”) regarding its recent data breach. The Walser data breach involved personal identifiable information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

Additionally, Walser provides a range of expert auto services to keep vehicles running smoothly and performing at their best, from oil changes and tire rotations to comprehensive routine and scheduled maintenance.2 Headquartered in Edina, Minnesota, Walser has over 25 locations across Minnesota and Kansas and employs over 1,000 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Walser reported to the Attorney General of Vermont that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, in May 2024, Walser detected unauthorized activity on its network that resulted in the disruption of certain Walser systems. As a result, Walser launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Walser learned that sensitive personal information may have been viewed or taken from its systems between May 14 and May 16, 2024. As a result, Walser began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Passport information
- Financial account information
On July 24, 2024, Walser began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Attorney General of Vermont, Walser is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
