WHAT HAPPENED?

On May 31 and June 1, 2022, Allegheny Health Network experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its system may have been accessed. Allegheny Health Network’s investigation is ongoing, and the full extent of the investigation is pending. According to an Allegheny Health Network spokesperson, the type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Financial information
  • Medical information (diagnoses, condition, treatment, dates of treatment)
  • Medical record ID number
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Contact information (phone number, email address)
  • Driver’s license number
