WHAT HAPPENED?

On May 19, 2022, Sanford Insurance Group discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Sanford Insurance Group determined that an unknown actor may have accessed this sensitive information through an employee email account. This occurred at various times between March 24 and May 18, 2022. On August 24, 2022, Sanford Insurance Group began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
