LifePlans Financial Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating LifePlans Financial & Insurance Services, Inc., which does business as LifePlans, regarding its recent data breach. Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, LifePlans employs more than 60 financial consultants in offices throughout California, Nevada, and Texas. Currently, LifePlans serves over 25,000 clients.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 21, 2022, Royal Alliance, a company which LifePlans’ financial advisors are registered with, discovered that LifePlans had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Royal Alliance determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a LifePlans employee email account. On October 12, 2022, Royal Alliance, on behalf of LifePlans, began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account number
