Webber is a not-for-profit private college located in Babson Park, Florida. Founded in 1896, Webber offers degrees at the associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s levels in a wide range of programs including accounting, business, computer science, criminal justice, hospitality, management, psychology, nursing, and education.3 Competing in the NAIA as the Warriors, Webber has 27 intercollegiate teams and currently hosts students from 29 states and 48 countries.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Webber discovered it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Webber determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to this sensitive information on or around February 28, 2024. On May 24, 2024, Webber began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Date of birth
- Student identification number
- Financial account information
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
