WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Lewis & Clark discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Lewis & Clark determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive information by launching a ransomware attack on March 3, 2023. Furthermore, a ransomware group was reported to have published sensitive information belonging to individuals associated with Lewis & Clark College shortly thereafter. On March 31, 2023, Lewis & Clark posted a notice of the data breach on its website.
