WHAT HAPPENED?
On February 11, 2023, Gates Corporation discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Gates Corporation determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive information by launching a ransomware attack between February 7 and February 11, 2023. On June 30, 2023, Gates Corporation began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license
- Passport
- Financial account information (e.g., direct deposit information)
