WHAT HAPPENED?
On May 31, 2023, Maximus discovered that Progress Software Corporation had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information of individuals who participate in various government programs managed by Maximus may have been accessed. While the investigation is ongoing, Maximus determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a vulnerability in the MOVEit file transfer platform developed by Progress Software and used by Maximus. Maximus plans to contact individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

- Social Security number
- Protected health information
