Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating The International Center of Photography (“ICP”) regarding its recent data breach. The ICP data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to over 5,000 individuals.
ABOUT INTERNATIONAL CENTER OF PHOTOGRAPHY:
ICP is a photography and visual culture institution based in New York. Founded in 1974, ICP offers an open forum for dialogue about photography and images though a combination of exhibitions, educational programs, and community outreach.2 Since its founding, ICP has presented more than 700 exhibitions and offered thousands of classes, providing instruction at every level.3 Today, ICP is a center where photographers and artists, students and scholars can create and interpret the world of the image within its comprehensive educational facilities and archive.3 Located in New York, New York, ICP has an additional collections and media lab in New Jersey and employs over 50 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On February 16, 2023, ICP discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. On February 28, 2024, ICP will begin notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Address
- Contact information (e.g., email address, phone number)
- Government IDs, passport, or US Visa numbers
- Financial information (e.g., bank account numbers, expired credit card numbers)
- Gender and/or race/ethnicity
