WHAT HAPPENED?

On August 23, 2023, Gerber Life discovered that one of its third-party service providers experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to Gerber Life customers may have been accessed. Through its investigation, the third-party provider determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a vulnerability in the MOVEit file sharing platform on May 28, 2023, and May 31, 2023. On November 15, 2023, Gerber Life began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Health insurance information
