Conrade Insurance Group Data Breach Investigation

Additionally, Conrade provides insurance products to individuals, offering a wide array of coverage, including homeowners, auto, recreational vehicles, watercraft, valuable articles, and excess liability protection.2 Headquartered in Newton, Kansas, Conrade has an additional location in Wichita, Kansas and employs over 30 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Conrade discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal information may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Conrade determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information through an employee email account between July 14 and July 27, 2023. On February 26, 2024, Conrade began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Conrade. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license or state-issued identification number
  • Financial information (e.g., financial account number, credit or debit card number)
  • Medical information
  • Taxpayer ID number
  • Identity protection personal ID number
