Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating TruView BSI, LLC (“TruView”) regarding its recent data breach. The TruView data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to over 20,000 individuals.
ABOUT TRUVIEW BSI, LLC:
TruView is a private investigations and background-screening firm based in New York. Founded in 2005, TruView offers a variety of services to employers such as preemployment, tenant, and compliance screening, post and clearance background investigations, fraud and field investigations, due diligence, and more. Today, TruView has over 1,000 business clients ranging from corporations and sole proprietors, nonprofits, educational institutions, and government agencies.3 Headquartered in Melville, New York, TruView has an additional location in California and employes over 50 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, TruView reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on March 4, 2026, TruView confirmed that a cybercriminal may have accessed personal information within its environment.1 As a result, TruView launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, TruView discovered that sensitive personal information in its environment may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between July 18, 2024, and August 15, 2024. As a result, TruView began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Driver’s license number
- Financial information
- Medical information
On April 8, 2026, TruView began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, TruView is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
