Today, the Battery offers members a range of amenities, events, and social spaces, including dining options, bars, gardens, hotel accommodations, event parlors, private event rentals, live music, classes, and more.2,3 Headquartered in San Francisco, California, the Battery employs over 200 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, the Battery reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around November 15, 2025, the Battery experienced a network disruption that impacted certain systems.1 As a result, the Battery launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, the Battery confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between November 11 and November 15, 2025. As a result, the Battery began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:4
- Name
- Social Security number
On March 26, 2026, the Battery began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, the Battery is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
