WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Royal Chemical announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice shared on its website, on April 25, 2025, Royal Chemical learned that an unauthorized party obtained access to its internal network.1 As a result, Royal Chemical launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Royal Chemical confirmed that sensitive personal information in its network may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between April 11 and April 26, 2025. As a result, Royal Chemical began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:1,4
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Address
- Driver’s license information
- Government-issued ID number (passport, state ID card)
- Financial account information
- Digital signature
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
As a result of the breach, Royal Chemical posted notice of the breach on its website. Based on the website breach notice, Royal Chemical is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
