Alert Medical Alarms Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Alert Medical Alarms (“AMA”) regarding its recent data breach. The AMA data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT ALERT MEDICAL ALARMS:

AMA is a personal emergency response systems company based in Pennsylvania. Founded in 2007, AMA provides a range of personal emergency system products and services in order to provide home care for patients, addressing needs such as dementia, social isolation, fall prevention, and more.2,3 Products and services offered by AMA include GPS mobile watches, in-home units, medication dispensers, memory care packages, dispatch reporting, check-in calls, home entrance lock boxes, etc.2,3 Headquartered in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, AMA employs over 10 individuals.3

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, AMA announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice shared on its website, on or around June 17, 2025, AMA experienced a network disruption that impacted the functionality and access of certain computer systems.1 As a result, AMA launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, AMA confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, AMA began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On December 1, 2025, AMA completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Bank account number
  • Customer ID number
  • Case number
  • Health insurance information
  • Medicaid numbers
  • Prescription/medication information
  • Medical conditions

 

On February 17, 2026, AMA posted notice of the breach on its website. Based on the website breach notice, AMA is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
