Laurel Health Centers Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating North Penn Comprehensive Health Services, Inc., which does business as the Laurel Health Centers (“Laurel Health”), regarding its recent data breach. The Laurel Health data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

Laurel Health is a healthcare center based in Pennsylvania. Founded in 1972, Laurel Health provides a range of healthcare services to patients, including family medicine, pediatrics, dental care, women’s health, behavioral health, and more.2,3 Headquartered in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, Laurel Health employs over 50 individuals and offers services across clinics located in Elkland, Laporte, Lawrenceville, Mansfield, Towanda, Troy, Wellsboro, and Westfield, Pennsylvania.3,4

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Laurel Health announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around July 14, 2025, Laurel Health became aware of unusual activity in its email environment.1 As a result, Laurel Health launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Laurel Health confirmed that sensitive personal information in its care may have been accessed and/or acquired by an unauthorized third party between July 11 and July 25, 2025. As a result, Laurel Health began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On December 30, 2025, Laurel Health completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Contact information (address, telephone number, email)
  • Medical and health insurance information (medical record number, date of service, medical provider, Medicare information, insurance information, diagnostic information, treatment information, diagnosis information, insurance carrier, procedure codes, disability, dental, denture, immunization information, behavioral information)
  • PA Account IDs
  • Account number
  • Credit card information
  • Checking account information
  • Claim information

 

On January 6, 2026, Laurel Health posted notice of the breach on its website. Based on the website breach notice, Laurel Health is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
