La Clínica de La Raza Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating La Clínica de La Raza, Inc. (“La Clínica”) regarding its recent data breach. The La Clínica data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

La Clínica is a healthcare company based in Oakland. Founded in 1971, La Clínica provides a range of healthcare services to patients, including behavioral health, dental, family medicine, pediatrics, pharmacy, eye care, radiology, and more.2,3 Headquartered in Oakland, California, La Clínica employs over 1,000 individuals and operates 32 sites across Alameda, Contra Cost, and Solano Counties.3

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, La Clínica reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on December 12, 2025, La Clínica was notified that an unauthorized individual gained access to a system belonging to TriZetto Provider Solutions (“TriZetto”), a third-party company which works the with electronic medical record system provider for La Clínica, OCHIN, Inc.1 As a result, TriZetto launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, TriZetto confirmed to La Clínica that sensitive personal information in TriZetto systems related to La Clínica patients may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between November 2024 and early October 2025. As a result, La Clínica began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Contact information
  • Health-related or insurance information

 

On January 6, 2026, La Clínica began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Additionally, on January 13, 2026, La Clínica posted notice of the breach on its website. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, La Clínica and TriZetto are providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
