WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Cabinets 2000 announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice shared on its website, on October 15, 2025, Cabinets 2000 learned that certain files on the computer network were locked by a computer virus.1 As a result, Cabinets 2000 launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Cabinets 2000 confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between October 2 and October 3, 2025. As a result, Cabinets 2000 began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On December 9, 2025, Cabinets 2000 completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Passport number
- Other government identifier(s)
- Health information
- Health insurance information
As a result of the breach, Cabinets 2000 posted notice of the breach on its website. Additionally, on December 30, 2025, Cabinets 2000 began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to AG State residents, Cabinets 2000 is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
