Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Premier Auto Credit (“PAC”) regarding its recent data breach. The PAC data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.
ABOUT PREMIER AUTO CREDIT:
PAC is an auto lender based in California. Founded in 2004, PAC provides alternative auto financing solutions through a network of franchise and independent automobile dealers throughout California.2,3 Headquartered in Glendale, California, PAC employs over 50 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, PAC reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, PAC identified unusual activity indicating potential unauthorized access to its network.1 As a result, PAC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, PAC confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between January 11 and January 15, 2025. As a result, PAC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:4
- Name
- Social Security number
As a result of the breach, PAC began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Massachusetts residents, PAC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
