Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating CoVantage Credit Union (“CoVantage”) regarding its recent data breach. The CoVantage data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

CoVantage is a credit union based in Wisconsin. Founded in 1953, CoVantage provides individuals and businesses with a range of financial services, including checking and savings accounts, mortgage and vehicle loans, business loans, digital banking, and more.2,3 Headquartered in Antigo, Wisconsin, CoVantage employs over 500 individuals and operates 24 locations across Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois.3,4
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, CoVantage reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on August 14, 2025, CoVantage identified suspicious activity on its network and determined that it was the result of a cybersecurity incident.1 As a result, CoVantage launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, CoVantage confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, CoVantage began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Phone number
- Financial account information
- Date of birth
On November 26, 2025, CoVantage began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, CoVantage is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
