Founded in 1939, Hamilton specializes in transportation projects with an emphasis on major bridge replacement and rehabilitation, highway interchange and bypass construction, transit and rail work, and concrete structural components.2 Headquartered in Springfield, Oregon, Hamilton operates though five divisions throughout the West in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Greater Western US, and Rail, and employs over 200 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Hamilton reported to the Attorney General of Washington that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Hamilton became aware of unusual activity on certain systems in its network.1 As a result, Hamilton launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Hamilton confirmed that sensitive personal information in its network may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party on June 19, 2025. As a result, Hamilton began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Passport number
- Financial or banking information
- Medical information
- Health insurance policy or ID number
On November 12, 2025, Hamilton began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Washington residents, Hamilton is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
