Oglethorpe is a behavioral healthcare management company based in Florida. Founded in 1999, Oglethorpe provides management solutions for health centers, wellness clinics and hospitals that specialize in psychiatric services, drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation, eating disorder therapy, and behavioral health counseling.2 Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, Oglethorpe employs over 1,000 individuals and has additional locations across four states.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Oglethorpe reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or about June 6, 2025, Oglethorpe detected a network security incident, in which an unauthorized third-party accessed its network environment.1 As a result, Oglethorpe launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Oglethorpe confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party on or around May 15, 2025. As a result, Oglethorpe began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On October 23, 2025, Oglethorpe completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
 - Social Security number
 - Date of birth
 - Driver’s license number
 - Medical information
 
On October 31, 2025, Oglethorpe began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Oglethorpe is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
