Founded in 2006, GreenSky offers various point of sale and financial administration services such as home improvement financing, consumer financing via merchants, and financial institution integration.2,3,4 Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, GreenSky employs over 1,000 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, GreenSky reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around August 21, 2025, GreenSky received a report of a possible security issue affecting the Salesloft Drift application used by customers of the Salesforce cloud-based platform, including GreenSky.1 As a result, GreenSky launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, GreenSky confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between August 13, 2025, and August 18, 2025. As a result, GreenSky began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On October 29, 2025, GreenSky began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, GreenSky is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
