WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Roger Keith reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on January 27, 2025, Roger Keith learned that an unauthorized party gained access to one employee email account and its network environment.1 As a result, Roger Keith launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Roger Keith confirmed that sensitive personal information in the emails may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Roger Keith began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On October 6, 2025, Roger Keith completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Financial account numbers with access information
- Driver’s license number
- Credit or debit card numbers with access information
- Passport number
- Mother’s maiden name
- Military or other U.S. government-issued identification numbers
- Usernames and passwords
- Limited health-related information
On October 29, 2025, Roger Keith began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Roger Keith is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
