Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Newk’s Holding Company, LLC (“Newk’s”) regarding its recent data breach. The Newk’s data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to over 2,500 individuals.
ABOUT NEWK’S HOLDING COMPANY, LLC:
Newk’s is an express casual dining company based in Mississippi. Founded in 2004, Newk’s offers various food products such as California style pizzas, homemade cakes, and oven baked sandwiches.2 Headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, Newk’s employs over 1,500 individuals and has additional locations in across the United States.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Newk’s reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Newk’s experienced a network disruption that affected its ability to access certain systems.1 As a result, Newk’s launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Newk’s confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between January 19, 2025, and January 26, 2025. As a result, Newk’s began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. As of October 29, 2025, the type of information impacted in the breach has not been made publicly available by Newk’s.¹ However, according to Maine state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number or State ID card number
- Account number or credit or debit card number
- Account passwords, PINs, and other access codes
On October 28, 2025, Newk’s began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Newk’s is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
