Jewett-Cameron Trading Company Data Security Investigation

On October 15, 2025, Jewett-Cameron learned that a threat actor had gained unauthorized access to portions of Jewett-Cameron’s IT environment and claimed to have unlawfully accessed its information and data.¹ In response, Jewett-Cameron launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident. During the initial stages of its investigation, Jewett-Cameron discovered that the cybersecurity incident consisted of unauthorized access and deployment of encryption and monitoring software by a third party to a portion of Jewett-Cameron’s internal corporate IT systems, causing disruptions and limitation of access to portions of its business applications.¹ As a result, Jewett-Cameron learned that the threat actors accessed certain computer systems and extracted images of video meetings and computer screens that may contain sensitive information.¹ On October 15, 2025, Jewett-Cameron reported the incident in a Form 8-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. As of October 22, 2025, Jewett-Cameron’s investigation is ongoing and further details have not been made publicly available by Jewett-Cameron.
