On October 15, 2025, Heywood Hospital posted an update on its Facebook page, stating: “We continue to experience disruptions to our network. We are actively working to restore services. The phone and scheduling systems, imaging, and the laboratory remain offline. We have engaged experts who are working in tandem with our internal IT teams to restore systems as quickly and safely as possible, allowing us to return to normal operations in our emergency departments.”1 As of October 21, 2025, Heywood Hospital has not disclosed the specific nature of the cyber security incident and whether the incident resulted in a data breach.
