Karndean is a manufacturer and distributor of vinyl tile flooring based in Pennsylvania. Founded in 1973, Karndean specializes in various flooring types such as residential flooring, commercial flooring, and LVT. Headquartered in Export, Pennsylvania, Karndean employs over 50 individuals and has additional locations in Fort Worth, Texas, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Karndean reported to the Attorney General of Montana that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on July 25, 2025, Karndean learned of suspicious activity on certain systems in its environment.1 As a result, Karndean launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Karndean confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between July 5, 2025, and July 26, 2025. As a result, Karndean began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account number
On September 30, 2025, Karndean began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Montana residents, Karndean is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
