Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Rockhill Women’s Care (“RWC”) regarding its recent data breach. The RWC data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.
ABOUT ROCKHILL WOMEN’S CARE:
RWC is a physician-owned OB/GYN practice based in Kansas. Founded in 1989, RWC offers gynecological services, contraception services, obstetrical services, labor and delivery services, and pregnancy information.2 Headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas, has additional locations in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, RWC announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around February 26, 2025, RWC discovered a network incident that impacted its IT systems.1 As a result, RWC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, RWC confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, RWC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 13, 2025, RWC completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Medical treatment information
- Health insurance information
As a result of the breach, RCW posted notice of the breach on its website. Based on the breach notice, RCW is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted. A link to the website breach notice that RCW filed is below.
