WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, AMC reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, AMC became aware of suspicious activity associated with employee email accounts.1 As a result, AMC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, AMC confirmed that the sensitive personal information in its emails may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between June 2 and June 17, 2025.1 As a result, AMC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 22, 2025, AMC completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number or State ID number
- Date of birth
- Financial account number
On September 10, 2025, AMC began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice being sent to New Hampshire residents, AMC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services. 1 A link to breach notification letters that AMC filed with the Attorney General of New Hampshire is below.
