WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Farmer Brothers reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on March 14, 2025, Farmer Brothers identified indications of potential unauthorized access to its systems.1 As a result, Farmer Brothers launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Farmer Brothers confirmed that the sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between March 6 and March 14, 2025.1 As a result, Farmer Brothers began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license information
On September 9, 2025, Farmer Brothers began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals.
