Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Lasership Inc., which does business as OnTrac Final Mile (“OnTrac”) regarding its recent data breach. The OnTrac data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to over 40,000 individuals.

OnTrac is an e-commerce delivery company based in Virginia. Founded in 1986, OnTrac specializes in last-mile delivery for e-commerce shipments to residential areas, as well as providing transportation logistics services for medical, aviation, automotive, and industrial industries. 2,3 Headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, OnTrac employs over 5,000 individuals and serves 35 states.4
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, OnTrac reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on April 15, 2025, OnTrac detected suspicious activity on its computer network.1 As a result, OnTrac launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, OnTrac confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between April 13 and April 15, 2025. As a result, OnTrac began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number or State ID card number
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
On August 27, 2025, OnTrac began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, OnTrac is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.1 A link to the breach notice that OnTrac filed with the Attorney General of Maine is below.
